well, what do you know...

it turned out alright in the end.

watched Legally Blonde to get into the mood again. wokked some indonesian chicken for us both and nicked Maragor's forgotten pack of Tom&Jerry biscuits (sorry!), which we dipped into melted "light" dark chocolate. wonderful.

but today was a first, a definite treshold. now is the time to tread carefully.

saw just now that there was an email from Cass in my inbox. it's been almost eighteen months. I'm surprised. but grateful. and forgiving.

I look forward to StarCraft: Ghost, even though it's console only. (actual platforms TBA) very Thief-like. and MGS.

washing machine people coming around noon tomorrow. we spent almost 30 minutes pulling out soaked clothes and twisting most of the water out of them now.

Callie's impatient to get me into bed. again.

time to set straight at least some of the wrong, bad things from yesterday.

the practical matters which I'm able to do something about.

the psychological matters will prove more challenging, but I must try to overcome myself.

nobody's heard anything from Stephan in two days. he didn't show up for band rehearsal last night (and without giving notice. like Rex pointed out, that's not very like him to say the least). his mobile stays unreachable. I've been in touch with Vicki, Rex, Narrenschiff, and Tommy BK. nothing.

I'm going up to visit him now.

it did turn out right in the end.

came up from Møllers now. Rex met me to assist in the search for our Frenchman. I went to Stephan's apartment, nobody there. noted the last name of Johan and SMS'd for his number. called him at work and discovered he hadn't seen Stephan since he arrived back in the city on Monday.

met Tommy BK at Elm, and dropped by Callie at Standard. she had an important piece of the puzzle. but in the end Narrenschiff gave me the number of KK, the LARPG man from Drøbak.

turns out Stephan's been in Drøbak without a functioning mobile since Monday. that's a relief. Rex said, "that's how easily people get worried in the age of mobiles". heh.

but he had us really worried there. all kinds of speculations abounded. as a rule, we don't appreciate people around us until they're no longer there.

shameful.
