whoah-oh whoa YEAH!
Nov. 6th, 2001 08:22 pmso.
tried not to spend as much of Saturday in bed as I usually do. Maragor called and said two of his friends were standing out in the cold waiting for somebody of the live-ins to show up at the apartment with a key. that meant speeding by train home to Callie (also in order to be in time for the Atlantis première), so I didn't bother bringing my entire "costume" to the private Halloween party there.
which actually was very well conducted. the decorations were, despite lots of improvisation, really magnificent. and I don't think I'll ever tire of the hosts. truly wonderful people. got to meet shaliMa at last. about time! admirable person by all accounts and personal observations. ;-)
Maragor was worried about his costume - a tad unnecessary the way I saw it, after all it's the makeup that counts on Halloween. no reason everybody should "be" something as long as there's a certain amount of coolness and the grotesque present.
particularly good time at around 03, listening through Lateralus together with Callie, later note: and Zathyra, of course. sorry!, Tommy BK, and his gf Lisa. grreat!
left to find my place in the FotR ticket line at 11 on Sunday, but didn't reach the line until noon, had to wait for Farmen. very cool, in more than one way. my most profound thanks go out to all the people who came up (or down) to visit us and keep us company. Callie to keep me warm and comfort me, Maragor and shaliMa for reminding us of the world outside the Line, M. with her funny smoke, Rex for the hot chocolate, and our good neighbors from Stavanger. I now know with absolute certainty I'm going to have to get myself a deck of Chez Geek.
so after having negotiated less than sanitary facilities for doing the morning toilet amidst leaves covered in hoarfrost, and after having watched the not-quite-spectacular show preceding the opening of the box office at 08 (but with lots of very good costumes), our designated line numbers (134 and 135 for myself and Farmen, respectively) were about 5 numbers short of getting in on the 00:01 show. bummer. but we have really really really good seats to the 16:40 show. contact me on email for bidding rules. (ha!) =)
a little giddy, I went to work directly after wards yesterday (burdened by my bag containing my wool blanket, my sleeping bag, and my folding office chair), then I fell asleep on my couch as soon as I got home... but at least I'm satisfied. :-)
going up to Leon's in a minute, I hope.
