"gee, it's good to be back home"
Oct. 6th, 2001 06:14 pmvisited Lita. she appeared busy, as usual, and determined. a little tired, maybe, but not worn in the way that I have been.
I had no idea that she was the mastermind behind the plans for buying the flower shop. very impressing. hope they'll be doing well.
her twins were very "lingual" and forthcoming. haven't seen them in more than a year, I think. dunno if they recognized me. their hair had grown a lot, too.
Ole happened to call her just as I sat there. she didn't recognize him at first (she believed they haven't talked since we visited him in Røros. that was in... '94. OMG.)
it was a short visit, but a good one. she is still just as sweet as I remember.
tried to visit Limmy and give him back Ghost in the Shell, but my mobile battery was out of power (and Sis denied me the use of her charger), so I didn't bother to call him prior to my arrival, instead gambling that he would be home on a Friday night.
not very heavy odds against me, I figured, as I've always likened Limmy and Simon in various ways. so when I found his apartment empty I was more than a little taken aback. had to leave the video in the hall.
(naturally, I couldn't resist doing a little real-life sneaking about his house in order to find this out. his parents were evidently in the other end of the house, so Limmy's end was for the most part darkened. I lit matches when I had to and otherwise tried to move as silently as possible once inside the house. please forgive me and bear with me, this is some of the best fun I know of, ever since I was young. no wonder I loved the Thief games. :)
anyway, when Limmy called me today after finding his video, he was in very high spirits, higher than I can recall having heard him before. turns out he's got himself a girlfriend, and they're driving around the entire Midlands during weekends.
if Limmy can, then I bloody well bet Simon can too. there is hope for every nerd out there, regardless of gender. just look at me. =)
went to the pub and tested their espresschok. (the bartender wasn't quite used to making it, but I really love the laid back atmosphere of the place, at least early in the evening.) managed to make contact with SHS at last, who promptly invited me to his brother.
very cozy. we ended up at the pub again after a couple more hours. SHS actually has entertained plans of buying the place for years, something I wasn't aware of before. I wish him luck.
we agreed to meet again today, as his GF should be arriving soon. he is eager to present her for me, and vice versa. looking forward to meet her.
"You've gotta believe me, this is it! Just please be discreet about my, uh, earlier connections, would you? It's still a little early." --SHS
and right now I get SMS'es from Sab in England. missing me dearly, she writes. (I hope, for both their sakes, that Trd still is #1 on her dearly-missed list.) she also tells me to enjoy the air and the free days. that inspired me to take a walk. right now.
I'm off.
