Sep. 12th, 2001 02:10 pmthere isn't much one can do. I have emailed Altarielle and expressed my empathy. at least she is alive and okay. she replied last night, to my great relief.
Callie met me immediately after work yesterday. (what a day to work at a news desk!) we sat an hour or so together at the news café Stopp Pressen ("Stop the Press") on the ground floor here watching the news. at first she appeared not to be much moved by events... and it soon became apparent that she simply was not informed, even if there were two teevees turned on in the pub. I have a hard time consoling myself with her other qualities as long as her general interest in the world beyond her own remains very low.
this bothered me somewhat about Cassii as well. but it was negligible. oh well. at least Callie knows the name Arafat. and she has changed, too, to the better, in the months I've known her. yesterday she wore a new pair of beautiful purple (I think) pants. don't think she'd be inclined to dress herself that way earlier. to only name one change.
and she smiles a lot more now. =)
we met up with Korova at Møllers eventually. very, very nice to see her again. the news she brought were at once disheartening and reassuring. I must, must get around to finishing my letter to Lorien. soon.
