this holy reality...
Aug. 20th, 2001 11:46 ammy sister begged me that I should take a vacation soon. she observed how I seemed even more exhausted now than last time she visited (when I had just come off from a 14-hour-day). trouble is, with the financial situation of the company being what it is, I have opted to balance out my over time hours with "spontaneously" taking time off in the morning. flexible hours, in essence.
the party I fixed on Saturday went ahead and gleefully exceeded its budget with 200%. and the DJs I had counted on didn't show. improv, improv. worked out in the end, thanks to my friend Maria. she's a treasure. the volunteer dancers' show only counted 1 belly dancer, but his(!) skill more than made up for it.
the short film festival on Sunday was astoundingly badly executed on all parts I had anything to do with. nothing was fixed with regards to my company stand, and nothing was tested with regards to the displaying of the SMS-polling on the big screen. in the end the entire polling gig was chopped from the program because of the time constraints.
there was a tiny little bit of bitterness on my part then. a rare occurrence. but since I had apparently sacrificed an entire Sunday I could instead have spent with my sister for nothing but underpayment, I think I was justified. and even my co-workers think I should take a vacation soon. I'll see what the doc says later today.
and here I don't really understand what I'm seeing (or hearing) in Ayumi Hamasaki's little Evolution ditty... it's more than on the campy side than anything else I listen to, even in the remixed versions, but at the same time it's catchy as fuck. *shudder* J-Pop would be a terrible, terrible thing to become addicted to. even if Ms. Hamasaki looks like this:
