notes taken in the mountains
she cried when I told her I couldn't make it.
haven't spoken to her since, as I went to the mountains early the morning after. wed., that is. the mobile networks do not yet cover the isolated valley of our lodge. thankfully.
I could have timed, or rather, my vacation could have been better timed in some respects. in others it's timed well enough. I see Sis a lot. my cousin's family is around. spent last night playing cards, I experienced an unusually bad losing streak, but all in good fun.
all is as it should be.
who can share this with me?
I dunno if I have met anyone to date who could appreciate these things in life that I value so highly. sure it's possible to learn to love anything, but the task of teaching is a labor of love as well, and as such requiring a daunting demand for devotion.

mental note: get Savoy's tune The One That Got Away and analyze chord patterns. something very familiar about that one.
